Who can compete?: Anyone who is at least 3 years old, they do not have to be enrolled in AIA programs to join. We will happily accept adult competitors as well!

 

What makes it adaptive? Each race will consist of swimmers competing against their peers while using floats (provided by AIA) with the help of an instructor or adult volunteer. There will not be any disqualifications; the goal is to create a supportive environment for everyone to show their loved ones they are not only capable of hard things, but unstoppable when given the right opportunity!

 

What is the cost? It is $20 for every participating swimmer. They will receive a swim team shirt and ribbon for each event they swim. Spectator tickets are available for $3/youth and $5/adults.

**All proceeds will go toward funding the AIA swim lesson scholarships.**

 

Regulation supports: 

1. A social narrative for swimmers to review beforehand to support their understanding of something unfamiliar. 

2. A sensory-friendly room near the pool with fidgets, comfort items, and a sound machine.

3. An open swim lane for swimmers who struggle with transitioning in and out of the pool. We kindly ask for at least one family member to get in with anyone who will be using this option :)

4. Swimmers will be given the option to stay with their families while waiting for their turns or join our lane cheerleaders.​
